When you create a Rise Academy account as a student or staff member, we collect:
Full name, email address, and phone number
Authentication data when you sign in with your email or phone number (including one-time passwords)
Optional profile details such as a profile picture
Course enrollments and enrollment requests, lesson-by-lesson progress, and completion checklists
Quiz attempts, answers, scores, and results — including attempts you pause and resume
Assignment submissions you upload as files or photos, along with grades and instructor feedback
Certificates you earn, including the details shown on their public verification link (your name, course, and completion date)
Device and usage data: IP address, device type, OS version, app version, and usage metrics
Log data: error logs and API interaction metrics for system health and bug resolution
2. How We Use Your Information
Provide and maintain the service — account creation, sign-in, and access to your enrolled courses
Deliver your learning experience — video lessons, PDF study notes, progress tracking, quizzes, and grading
Enable communication — instructor announcements, assignment feedback, and course calendar updates
Issue and verify certificates — including the verification link employers can check
Security and fraud prevention — protect accounts, verify identity, and keep study material protected inside the app
Analytics and service improvement — understand app performance and improve course delivery
3. Data Security & Encryption
All data transmitted between your device and our servers is secured using industry-standard TLS/SSL encryption.
We use secure token storage and encrypted databases to prevent unauthorized access, and study material is protected inside the app. While we apply commercially acceptable security measures, no internet transmission is 100% error-free.
4. Children's Privacy (COPPA & Google Play Families Policy)
Rise Academy accounts are for enrolled students and staff of Rise Academy. We are committed to compliance with the Google Play Families Policy and COPPA:
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verified parental or guardian consent
Educational resources for children receive age-appropriate data treatment
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information without consent, please contact us immediately and we will promptly delete it.
5. Account Deletion & Data Retention
You have the right to request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time.
Request deletion via Account Settings in the app, by emailing our support team at support@riseinstitute.tech, or by following the steps on our account deletion page.
Upon a valid request, we securely delete your data from active databases, logs, and third-party integrations — except where retention is legally required (e.g. academic records, financial records, or dispute resolution). Certificates already issued may remain verifiable unless you ask us to revoke them.
6. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share data only in these situations:
With your instructors — your progress, quiz results, and assignment submissions, so they can grade your work and give feedback
Certificate verification — anyone with your certificate's verification link can confirm your name, course, and completion date
Third-party service providers — cloud hosting, analytics, and video streaming partners under strict confidentiality agreements
Legal compliance — when required by law or valid public authority requests
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last Updated" date and, where necessary, a prominent notice in the app.
